The story began with a shovel, a truck and plenty of grit. Over the years the work got bigger, but the attitude stayed the same. We know the land, we know the products and we know the people who use them. That mix is what keeps us moving after all these years.

OUR HISTORY

Back in 1976 Ken and Wanda Miller started blending loams on a patch of land at Mount Compass. It was hands-on, hard work and it gave them a product that gardeners quickly trusted. Those early mixes were low in salt and slightly acidic which made them perfect for the alkaline soils around Adelaide.Word spread fast. By the early eighties their sons Glenn and Neville had stepped in. New ideas arrived and so did bigger machines. What began as shovels and loaders grew into a yard that could turn out sand, mulch, stone and soil blends in serious volumes. Small deliveries turned into steady contracts. A truck that once ran locally was now crossing regions to meet demand.Quality stayed at the centre. Every load was checked, again and again, until it matched the standard the family set. That attention brought trust. Soon councils were calling, golf courses were being turfed and government projects were supplied straight from Mount Compass. Now the third generation is carrying the story forward. Neville, Heather and Scott keep the operation moving with the same values their parents and grandparents built it on. The scale is bigger, the reach wider, the tools sharper. What has not shifted is the promise: fair prices, honest service and products that deliver. Fifty years on, those principles are still the backbone of the business.
